Omicron Xi City Chapter was conceived by Epsilon Kappa Omega Chapter of Milwaukee,                                                                                                         Wisconsin on December 3, 1988. History of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated

Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) became the first sorority established by black women on the campus of Howard University in 1908. The Sorority was an instrument for enriching the social and intellectual aspects of college life by providing mental stimulation through interaction with friends and associates. However, after her incorporation to ensure perpetuity in 1913, Alpha Kappa Alpha gradually branched out and became the channel through which selected college-trained women improved the socioeconomic conditions in their city, state, nation, and the world.

AKA has grown through the years with more than 290,000 collegiate members and alumnae, constituting more than a thousand chapters in 42 states, the District of Columbia, and internationally.
